点评:The drive to Akvakultur i Vesteralen alone may have made the trip worthwhile, a long, narrow, and spectacular drive in a very sleepy (nearly abandoned, as it turns out) stretch of Norwegian coast. Once there, we ended up doing the tour in reverse because the boat captain had to run errands ahead of the impending storm. Fortunately, it was a rain-free day for us! So we began with a short RIB boat excursion out to the fish cages where we learned all about how the fish are raised in the sea. It was feeding time, so the young salmon were leaping with enthusiasm! Back on dry land, we learned about the seafood farming industry and saw the ultra-modern laser method of dealing with a new-to-me problem: salmon lice. Then we watched a very cool virtual reality demonstration (in all directions — make sure to swivel in your chair and look everywhere!) of the end-to-end process. Finally, a tasting of smoked salmon! It was a lot of fun and an incredibly good value! Definitely recommend!
