A very enjoyable learning experience

点评：My husband and I spent a pleasurable and profitable two weeks at Madrelingua School. We were in different levels so had a chance between us to experience all members of the faculty. The three main teachers were all highly skilled (as a retired professor, I appreciated their ability to have planned lessons yet be very flexible when the class seemed to head off into another direction, teaching the topic at issue with ease) and their constant and intense observation of students' comprehension and level of mastery of the element studied. They were also very patient and encouraging with students. The three principal teachers had different personalities, and the school had an excellent structure, with each four-hour daily session divided between two instructors at two hours each. This not only gave a contrast in teaching styles, but in listening to accents and way of speaking. In both of our classes, the emphasis was on communication, more speaking and oral comprehension than reading or writing, though they were not entirely ignored. Stefania, the director of the school with whom students had the most contact, was very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere in the school was very positive. Most afternoons there was an optional outing of some sort in the city or near environs which provided additional opportunities to interact with the faculty and use the language with gentle corrections as needed. I highly recommend this program to those who wish to improve their skills in the Italian language.
