点评：10/10 – Would absolutely get covered in mud again.
We went tidal bore rafting with Shubie River Wranglers a couple of weeks ago and honestly had such a brilliant time.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were fantastic. They got us kitted out with comfortable gear, made sure everyone felt safe, and somehow managed to be both incredibly professional and absolutely hilarious at the same time. They clearly know a ridiculous amount about the tidal bore and the river, but explained everything in a fun, interesting way without making it feel like a lecture.
The rafting itself was such a unique experience. We spent about an hour riding the tides, bouncing up and down the waves and getting thoroughly soaked in the best possible way. Then came the mud sliding, which was an unexpected highlight. What we really appreciated was that they didn’t rush us at all – they let everyone enjoy it properly and do their own thing rather than herding us straight back onto the bus.
A special shout-out to the crew for taking photos on their own phones throughout the trip and AirDropping them to us afterwards for free. Such a small thing, but it really added to the experience and meant we could actually enjoy ourselves without worrying about taking pictures.
The facilities afterwards were great too: hot showers (very welcome after being covered head-to-toe in mud), shoes available to borrow, and comfortable equipment that actually fit properly.
The whole team were just good craic – friendly, knowledgeable, safety-conscious, and clearly passionate about what they do.
If you’re thinking about trying tidal bore rafting, stop thinking and book it. We’d recommend Shubie River Wranglers in a heartbeat and would happily do it all over again
