Mountainous peninsula with sandy beaches and very good trails

点评：Freycinet National Park is south of Bicheno on the eastern coast of Tasmania. It encompasses a mountainous peninsula with woodlands, sandy white beaches, crystal clear waters and quality hiking opportunities. We recently spent a full day within the Park enjoying the popular Wineglass Bay area and completing the popular circuit track (11 km). After the 5 hour hike we also spent time at Sleepy Bay enjoying the short walk and small beach area there.
There is the town of Coles Bay which can make for a good place to base for those intending to make multiple night stay at Freycinet. There is a holiday park, hotels and cafes there as well. Camping within the park is possible with reservations made in advance through the park services. We very much enjoyed our day in Freycinet and would opt for 2 nights instead if time were permit next time around.
