Prospect Peak的点评
点评：It doesn’t take long from the center of town/Main Street to drive up to the peak of Cacapon Mountain to visit the scenic overlook.
There is parking at the scenic overlook at the guard rail. And the guard rail is lit up with outdoor fairy lights.
The views are spectacular. You could see three states. West Virginia on the right, Maryland on the left, and in the far straight back is Pennsylvania mountains. The dividing line between Maryland and West Virginia in the scenic overlook is the Potomac River. There’s a couple of placards at the overlook to learn more about the scene and the landscape and how George Washington walked through the area. On the way up, there’s a unique castle on the side of the mountain, not sure if it’s a private residence or a bed-and-breakfast. But you could see that in the photos. And then as you descend the mountain on the other side, you can go into a little small town Called Great Cacapon. There wasn’t much in little small town as you went over a bridge other than a local café where there were a lot of local residence hanging out at.
Of course scenic overlook is free and you could spend about 15 minutes or so taking in the spectacular views. Well worth a trip up the mountain it doesn’t take long.
