Interesting to learn about a Sultan's daughter, well educated, and author of an autobiography
Princess Salme Museum at Emerson on Hurumzi的点评
点评:Salme, one of the many daughters of Sultan Said, became world famous as Emily Ruete, the Arabian princess who fell in love with the German merchant Rudolph Heinrich Ruete. Her tragic, colorful, story inspired her to write a book. She is often credited as being the first East African woman to write an autobiographical book - but even so, her interesting life has remained largely unknown. Her book was called Memoirs of an Arabian Princess from Zanzibar. We met Said el-Gheithy, founder and manager of the Princess Salme Museum, and he showed us around. A delightful person eager to enhance your experience, or leave you be if you prefer. His displays are a labor of love
