A day to remember with Davide's Private Blue Taxi

点评：My husband and I traveled independently in May 2025 starting in Lucerne, Switzerland and ending in Rome, Italy, moving from place to place by train, boat, and bus (free from driving a car). In Locarno we took the Centivalli Panoramic train to Domodossola and arranged for Davide to meet us at the Domodossola train station to take us to Lake Orta on our way to Stresa. Without his assistance we could not have seen the Lake Orta area because there is no public transport there. He took us to the sacred mountain devoted to St Francis of Assisi and let us wander on our own through the chapels, then dropped us in the village of Orta where we had lunch at a lakeside restaurant before taking the tiny boat taxi to the island where we walked the path of silence. We returned to the village for an afternoon coffee where we called David who picked us up and took us to an unexpected viewing of the statue of St Charles, a huge statue on a scale comparable to the Statue of Liberty, located in a park on top of a hill overlooking Lake Orta. We would not have discovered this site on our own because I had not read about it in guide books and it was so worthwhile and memorable. After St. Charles, Davide drove us to our accommodation in Stresa. Throughout the day he answered our questions about Italy and the sites we were visiting. His English is excellent so if you don't speak Italian (which we don't) you will have no problem communicating with him. He is an excellent driver who knows his way around all of the hairpin turns on the Piedmont roads. He is a very likeable person who is easy to spend the day with--I felt we were with a friend rather than a tour guide. If you need private transportation and are wondering who to hire, look no further. David's Blue Taxi service is your best choice. He is very responsive to emails or phone calls and his price is reasonable. You can be confident if you book a tour with him that you will not be disappointed.
