点评:While at the Concord, NH State House to participate in the commemoration of General Stark Day, I took time to walk the grounds, which included seeing the Franklin Pierce (14th President) statue. This statue has been placed in a more obvious spot than the other nearby statues, out by the street in front of the State House grounds. Yes, it may be "just a statue", but it becomes more meaningful once you learn about the man. Some information on available on the statue's base, and there's more info inside the State House. History buffs will like this, and the other statues, on the grounds. Pierce's tomb is about 1.5 miles away in the historical Old North Cemetery. The statue and grounds are clean and unmarred. Restrooms, visitor's shop, and cafeteria, are available in the State House. During my visit I saw a couple of picnic tables and school children having lunch on the grass. Free entry, street parking (Some may be metered). There is a curb for handicap visitors to navigate if they would like to get closer.
