Disappointing
Exmoor Horse Riding and Trekking Centre的点评
点评：Overall disappointing experience. We were a large group who wanted to try somewhere different as we usually go to Brendon Manor Stables (who never fail to provide an amazing experience). We felt we were battling the horses the whole time with them constantly putting their heads down to eat grass and refusing to move - even when kicking them with as much force as physically possible! I have experience riding and found these horses to be very stubborn - almost essential to have a whip in order to get these horses going.
Grass reins would also be a good idea for routes with so much vegetation. Older lady who welcomed us into the yard, helping us with helmets, seemed to be quite rude and abrupt - talking down to us all. She also brought up a controversial topic which the group felt was inappropriate. Young girl who rode out with us was really good, can’t fault her - although could have benefited from another instructor being present for those at the back of the ride with horses who were refusing to move. One of my mates reins snapped during the ride and the girl who rode out with us said this was normal as the reins get dry. If this is regular occurrence perhaps a spare set of reins would be an idea, especially with inexperienced, nervous riders.
To top it off, after the ride a couple of us went to the cafe for some food but was made to feel like a burden for doing so - as they were wanting to shut the kitchen 30-60mins later. Unfortunately we shan’t be going back there and will not be recommending Exmoor riding school stables to anyone.
At Brendon manor stables you receive a warm reception, have a laugh with the instructor on the ride and they take care of you - never once have we felt unsafe. We also have many photos taken whilst on the ride which is nice to look back on.
