点评:More of a sunken villa and storerooms, with a tiled floor, a cobbled street, but none the less interesting for not being an entire city! It dates from the 2nd century CE.
We borrowed a kayak and had a brilliant couple of hours out on the water. we paddled up and down the bay as well as over the sunken ruins.
You will see the walls of the buildings, a cobbled street, the bottoms of what appear to be broken amphoras. Lots of fish, and a great view of Panagia from the sea. Methanos looms nicely in the background, and the water is so so clear.
Definitely worth doing if you can borrow a kayak, inflatable canoe, or rowing boat.
Also, if you're a good swimmer you can swim out and snorkel over it.
Do try NOT to stand on the ruins (they're quite shallow in the water) as they're extremely fragile. Also there are black spiny sea-urchins everywhere.
if it's not a calm day, don't try this. Fortunately, there are more calm days than not. Often we found the sea was calmer in the morning, and the wind and waves for up a bit in the afternoon.
