Maybe a great cooking school but not a chef’s table!

点评：We had heard this was a great restaurant with a good outdoorsy ambience. Sadly it was a terrible disappointment. The primary business is a cooking school and that the restaurant is very much a secondary endeavour. There was no host or anyone to welcome guests - zero atmosphere or buzz! We wandered into a foodie shop with the usual array of jams, preserves etc with a freezer in the middle with some frozen meals and a pail of what looked like the green sauce for a Thai chicken curry?
After wandering around aimlessly a lady arrived and took us out to the verandah at the back which was clearly the restaurant - with some tables on the lawn below. Nice! The place was hardly busy - maybe three other tables with a total of ten? We were shown a table and given the menu which certainly looked super - no mention of specials etc. to aid in making our choices. Our server/host returned - It appeared she was the sole server doing her best. Now time for food orders - sadly the mains we wanted were all apparently not available or finished - the ostrich steak and lamb chops. That was disappointing, but we settled for Thai green chicken curry , pork belly and a Greek salad.
The Greek salad wasn’t at all bad although the salad dressing was something other than the traditional vinaigrette. The Thai chicken curry was pretty mediocre - a pretty feeble curry paste - no taste of lemon grass, not much if any taste of coconut milk and certainly no mushrooms. It seemed the chicken and curry sauce had been cooked some time before and then simply thrown together for a few minutes and heated in a microwave. It was just OK…bur clearly not freshly made. The impression that there was no chef worth his salt cooking in the kitchen was reinforced by the fact that the pork belly was cold and had to be sent back to be warmed up! So looks like the ‘restaurant’ prepares previously cooked and frozen foods, heating them up for serving!

希腊沙拉一点也不差，尽管沙拉酱不是传统的油醋汁。泰式咖喱鸡相当平庸——咖喱酱很淡——没有柠檬草的味道，椰奶的味道也不多，当然也没有蘑菇。鸡肉和咖喱酱似乎已经煮了一段时间，然后简单地放在一起几分钟，然后在微波炉中加热。还可以……但显然不是新鲜制作的。五花肉是冷的，必须送回去加热，这更加强化了厨房里没有值得他的厨师烹饪的印象！看来“餐厅”准备了预先煮熟的冷冻食品，加热后即可食用！
