Unicorn Airplanes and a Church

点评：Although the Frauenkirche was unfortunately closed during my visit, it still became one of my favourite spots in Memmingen's Old Town.
One of the best views of the church can be enjoyed from The Roof, a rooftop bar overlooking the historic centre. From there, you can admire the beautiful church tower while occasionally catching sight of aircraft passing overhead on their approach to Memmingen Airport. It is a unique scene where history, modern life, and international travel come together in a single picture.
Another viewpoint I particularly enjoyed is directly in front of the church, looking along the small watercourse that runs beside it. The perspective creates a beautiful photo opportunity and highlights the charm of this part of the old town.
In front of the church stands a statue of a unicorn, adding another layer of mystery and local legend to the setting. According to tradition, only a virgin could ride a unicorn. I was told that there is also a unicorn painting inside the church, which gives me another reason to return and explore the interior next time.
What I like most about the Frauenkirche is how it reflects the character of Memmingen itself. The city combines medieval history, fascinating stories, beautiful architecture, and a surprisingly international atmosphere thanks to its airport and connections to visitors from across Europe.
