Headland Park的点评
点评：I visited Headland Park on days 2 and 4 of my Bondi to Manly walk. The first day I came up from Chowder Bay via Georges Head and Middle Head which is a bushland and parkland walk. I did get a bit lost when the walking track went inland and ended up on Chowder Bay Rd despite the signposting. There are old military buildings on Middle Head, some which have been repurposed as office buildings. The cafes were closed when I arrived around 4:30 pm but the bus from HMAS Penguin was operating and was the way I left. It is best to get off at the bus at Mosman and take a bus into Sydney rather than go onto South Mosman Wharf with its less regular service.
On day 4 I came up from Balmoral, which has a pretty beach and lots of facilities and probably better transport connections, then headed up the Headland Park Walking Track, basically stairs up to Middle Headland Rd (which I wish I had gone down on Day 2!). There were signs to say the stairway closes around 10 pm. This time I took the bus to Mosman.
There are great views of the heads from Georges Heights and lots of military history. Unfortunately both my visits were at the end of long days so I didn't make the most of my visit. I feel like there is more I could have explored and enjoyed if I had come earlier in the day.
