Antelope Flats的点评
点评：The Antelope Flats is a very large scenic area rising from the valley floor and is covered with Sagebrush. The Mormons settled here and a lot of known history took place in this area.
The Mormon Barns – the famous ones being the Thomas Alma Moulton and John Moulton Barns – are still standing in the Flats after more than a century and have become the focal point for photographs with the Grand Tetons serving as a gorgeous backdrop. These settlers suffered a lot of hardships in this wilderness. They lived without running water or electricity.
The drive here is lovely. There are some small parking lots spread all around. Be prepared to walk on uneven gravel paths to get near the famous Barns and the Pink Stucco House that was built around 1938. Go early to avoid the crowds.
We came to this area twice during our stay. The first time was during a Sunset Safari in the Tetons, and the second time during an all-day tour of the Grand Tetons National Park. We did not see any animals but learned a lot about its history from both our tour guides.
It was well worth our time visiting this area.
