点评:We day-tripped in from Cleveland to see the “Vermeer, Monet, Rembrandt” exhibit. In fact, there was very little to see of Vermeer, Monet, and Rembrandt. What we did see of these three was hard to find in a hodge-podge of generally fine European art. Not what we expected. The most interesting part of the exhibit was learning about Frick and his daughter, the source of Frick’s 19th century wealth, and their collecting habits. Back to our day trip, we had pre-purchased tickets for a 1:00 pm entry, figuring we could have a simple lunch in the museum café before seeing the art. When we arrived the lot was full, and we ended up parking on the street a few blocks away. When we got to the café, we found that something was broken and there was no food. We then walked to a bar a few blocks away where we enjoyed excellent Mexican entrees and great chat with the bar tender. Altogether, not what we expected, but an enjoyable day drip nonetheless.
