点评：After a toss up between a trip to Chateau If or the Frioul Islands, I chose the Islands and was not disappointed.
The islands feel a world away from the city of Marseille, and at times, a bit like a secret lair of a Bond baddie!
Despite a full boat, once on the Islands it felt pretty deserted. The harbour area is very picturesque, with a small selection of restaurants. This seemed to be the only place for food or drink on the Islands, so come prepared.
Take a walk around the Islands and see what you can discover. There are some small calanques and a beach where swimming is possible. Meandering around the old fortifications is interesting too, with some great views of the surrounding area. Some places can be a bit of a scramble though, and the recommended walking route not always clear, especially around the fortress.
