Spectacular views, narrow roads, hairpin turns and sometimes just a one lane road.

点评：This was our first time on Maui. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.
My husband and I love to explore new places and the first major exploration event was the Kahekili highway. Honestly, we didn’t realize it was a thing until we were really committed. Thank goodness my husband is a confident driver. This road is approx 21 miles, is narrow and precarious, however, the views are spectacular. What I thought was odd was that many locals live along this (Hwy 340) and travel this road on a daily basis to work and school buses drive this road -major YIKES. There is a lovely gift shop, Karen Lei's Gallery at the top. We stopped to look, shop and stretch our legs. We drove by many farms, one in particular had these little pigs. When I got out of the car to take their picture those little piggies ran away from me extremely fast, so there was no picture of them. The scenery was beautiful. One recommendation is to be sure to do drive this highway during daylight hours and we feel it is not a good idea to go when it has rained heavily or is raining due to the narrowness of the road and possible landslides. I do wish that I had taken more pictures along the way. It was very fun and we would totally do it again.
