Tubing the James River with my Besties!

点评：My daughter-in-law and I had such a great time tubing on the river last summer that we brought three others with us this year: her mom, my sister, and my future daughter-in-law. Our guide tied our five tubes to our cooler tube, and our trip began. I quickly forgot about the cool water temperature (June compared to August) as we all hopped onto our tubes and let the current take us down the river. It was around 4.9 feet and moved faster than the 3.5-foot run last year. Everyone on the river is always so friendly and eager to offer a cool beverage from their coolers, whether you're floating beside them or pulled over on one of the beach areas together. When you get to the end, you must be ready to work your way towards the left and be careful of the rocks. Getting off the tube and walking to the shore can be challenging. I'm not sure if it's allowed, but a type of rope system tied to shore or nearby trees to help individuals needing to steady themselves would be helpful. The new ownership had customers carry their tubes back up to the meeting spot this year, so be prepared for that. Another new and nice addition was the freshly grilled cheeseburgers ready for purchase. Yum! We're hoping they'll add some hot dogs and chips by next summer. It was a wonderful day making memories and connections on the James River. We cannot wait to return next year.
