Absolutely brilliant visit to Peterhead Prison Museum! Thankfully, we were allowed out at the end!
The prison itself is fascinating, with loads to see and plenty of stories that give you a real sense of what life was like behind bars. It’s hard to believe how much history is packed into the place.
The highlight of our visit was meeting David one of the tour guides and a former prison officer. He was friendly, funny, and full of brilliant first-hand stories that you simply won’t find on any information board. Listening to his experiences made the whole place come alive, and we could have chatted to him for hours. He definitely deserves time off for good behaviour!
If you’re anywhere near Peterhead, don’t commit the crime of missing this place. A fantastic day out that’s both entertaining and genuinely fascinating. Highly recommended!
