点评:This famous beach is now a protected area so people are not supposed to access it by land or sea, with hefty fines in theory for people that ignore the warnings. However, you can get pretty good views of it from the GR34 coastal path that runs along the wooded cliffs above and it certainly looks more beautiful with unspoiled white sand rather than a mass of towels and beach umbrellas.
Easiest access is from the (free) parking by the Mineral Museum. There's a straight path that leads towards the sea. At the end you can choose to go left (signposted) or right on a track until you reach a narrower trail that takes you down to intersect the GR34 path. We chose to go right and do an anti-clockwise loop. If you do this you need to skip a couple of private driveways before you reach a narrow path through the woods.
The GR34 part of the trail is pretty rough, and if you take the anti-clockwise route parts of the trail on that side are pretty steep, a bit of a scramble in places. The signposted route the other way is a little easier.
Both routes require reasonably sturdy footwear rather than e.g. flip flops, and they're definitely not suitable for pushchairs etc. Our route was about 3km (2 miles), and although there's quite a lot of shade it's on the leeward side of the peninsula so there's not much of a breeze and it can get pretty hot.
