I was really excited to try Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash and have wanted to come for years and finally got the opportunity to. I went with my kids aged 15 and 9. Everyone has to wear a lifejacket and be able to swim. Kids under 8 have to be accompanied by an adult. Price is the same no matter the age, we did the one hour which I found plenty long enough and it was about $18 per person. There is also an early bird rate when it first opens and an evening rate or all day.
It's harder than it looks and a little frustrating because there are a lot of people that push and shove and go ahead of you even if you are politely waiting for your turn. Nothing is done about this from the people working there, you should not be pushed off by kids playing their games, it's rude and my daughter got her arm hurt by this. There also should be only one direction to go because when you have obstacles and people going in both direction trying to take turns to get across them makes it frustrating.
I had fun but it was at full capacity when we went and I would not want to do that again. It clouded over when it was our hour out there and I found I was very cold at the end of the time, you also have to swim out to the aqua splash area so at the end of the hour when I was already cold it was not great swimming back but it's not a long swim at least.
