点评:This is my most absolute most favorite place on the planet!
In order to get down to the Valley floor, you have to take one of the tour shuttles down. There’s a local business that operates a tour bus that’s run by a person that lives in the valley, and as far as I know, that’s the only way you can get down there unless you are driving with a resident of Hawaii.
The way it was explained to me is that a bunch of other people ruined it for the rest of us by going down there and desecrating the ancient royal ruins. It turns out that they were not from the State of Hawaii and so when the authorities came after them, they just got on a plane and left all their responsibilities behind and the local residences to clean up their mess. And that is the explanation that I got as to why non-Hawaii residents are not allowed to drive down the cliff road to the valley floor.
This place is so incredibly beautiful, the scenery is so incredibly tranquil, and I’ve never seen so much green in one spot in my entire life. You will feel like you’ve entered into a completely different world down here. The life of the residence is a lot simpler than life we are used to, and they prefer to keep it that way.
We even got to see a group of wild horses down there, which was pretty amazing!
If you happen to get the opportunity to go down there, definitely do it!
