Really impressive! Unique, and not crowded
Craters of the Moon National Monument的点评
点评：We drove around two hours from Mountain Home to visit this interesting monument. It was definitely worth the drive!
We stopped first at the visitors center for a map of the park and restrooms. We then drove the loop road, stopping at all the stops marked on the map. Most of the stops have easy and short hikes, usually on paved trails.
I was a bit leery doing the short but steep Inferno Cone hike (I’m extremely out of shape), but I’m so glad I did! The views are incredible. I walked up slowly and took frequent breaks. Downhill was much easier. The crushed volcanic rock provides great traction, so you don’t have to worry much about slipping. You can see 360 degrees from the top.
We did not explore the caves, although I did walk out to them. There isn’t much to see from the outside. But it is really neat to walk through the lava fields .
