Catch-22 Escape Rooms的点评
点评：My friend and I were spending the weekend in the Waukesha area, and we really enjoy trying different escape rooms as we visit new areas. We chose this business based on convenience of location and the appeal of the room concept. We didn’t complete the room for various factors (see below), but the two of us nearly finished before the time ran out. Disappointing experience, but we’d likely try one of their other rooms if we’re back in the area again.
Good: The design and decoration of the rooms were very impressive. Really loved how the castle section felt authentic, and the laboratory areas had some really cool scientific props. We also liked that most of the clues and puzzles involved interacting with the props and rooms versus just being a bunch of locks on things.
Bad: To add to the authenticity, the rooms were mostly lit by electronic candles and such, which meant that you’re spending a lot of the time in dim light and darkness. The lack of light adds to the challenge, but it also made it very difficult to see. At one point, a clue was dropped to the floor from a container, but it partially fell behind an obstacle and was not visible in the darkness.
Ugly: In addition to limited visibility, the room makes use of “red herring” puzzles as well. We wasted a fair amount of time trying to find stuff for an unsolvable puzzle versus focusing attention elsewhere, which is the point of the red herrings. Wouldn’t have minded there being false clues if we went into the room knowing that not everything was solvable.
