点评：We were here recently for an event, and what a beauty.
Thalian Hall was completed in 1858 in the classical revival and late Victorian design. It is the only surviving theater designed by John Montague Trimble, the leading 19th century theater architect. It was once the city hall as well as theater. Today it is used exclusively as a historical theater. Performers including Buffalo Bill Cody and John Phillip Sousa are amongst the many people who have performed here. There are annually above 700 events every year. The main stage holds 650 patrons, 100 in the Stein theater, and 150 in the Grand Ballroom. They host everything from concerts to the symphony to the ballet, to classical movies. It was added to the national Registry in 1970.
We were here recently to see the classic 1960 horror classic, Pyscho. This theater is gorgeous and ornate. It reminds me of the theaters I saw in London and Copenhagen.
Were going back next week to see the Haunted Illusionist. Can't wait.
The employees are great and very knowledgeable of the history of this magnificent place. The theater is lavishly decorated. In 1973 there was a small fire in the building. There was a curtain that managed to survived that is now on display. You can even sign up for a tour. They are ADA compliant. They do offer concessions. There are several public parking lots nearby. They are located near downtown, so there are plenty of dining options.
