点评:Signore Marco picked us up from the parking lot above Maranello and from the get go, enlightened us on the area. It wasn’t long before he had parked the packed Fiat Punto carrying our four family members at the base of the track and we were off meandering up the strone track. Despite the late morning heat, the shade of the acacia trees provided respite. Be sure to bring close toed shoes to traverse the path up with security and comfort. As we ascended, we communicated through our friendly mix of English and Italian, learning about herbs, weather, crops and yield of the area. The terraces are fragrant at this time of year and the sounds of the working farm, bees at work, birds and breeze piqued the interest of even my teens, whose daily life is far flung from this environment. After some twenty minutes up and across the hillside we were greeted by Signora Jessica who was busy preparing our tasting, and understated adjective to the amount and flavors experienced over a lovely two hours or so - olives, bruschetta, honey, lemon, white wine, amaro, pecorino. It was heaven. Amidst this, discussion ebbed into music and family things one shares between families. For a tour of terroir and one that brings you closer to the land and those that make a living off of it with care and diligence, you cannot go wrong with a tour here.
