点评:Listen. Parenting is hard. Public places like this can be overstimulating and overwhelming. This place has all sorts of nooks and crannies for kids to explore. And every single one of them has multiple books. If your kids are like mine, books are safe spaces and are so regulating. So to see so ma y options is amazing.
That said, meltdowns still happen. I sat in the cafe while one kid smashed a delicious grilled cheese and apples, when my husband brought over our potty training toddler who decided mixing his yogurt with applesauce and chocolate milk was the best idea ever. Hubs went to take our older kiddo to explore while I sat with meltdown Magee. The kitchen staff—friendly and fun—sensed my deteriorating spirits and brought me churros. I legit cried. This simple act of kindness just helped me feel seen in a place where it would be hard to be seen as a parent, because there are so many.
Thank you to the Magic House for making Magic not just for my kids, but for my tired parent soul.
