点评:We saw a documentary on this at the NHK program so we inserted in our must-visit place in the recent Tokyo trip it itinerary.
The Meiji Yasuda Seimei Kan is located at the HQ of the life insurance company Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company in downtime Chiyoda. We arrived from Nijubashimae Station Tokyo Metro Line via Exit 3. We exited from the basement and walk amongst buildings. Need to navigate a bit up to the Ground Floor. Follow the directives and we reached the building.
A historical building designated as a National Important Cultural Property. One of its main attraction lies in that fact that it is open to the public (Level 2) and no charges applies!
We were directed by the friendly security staff to one end/corner of the building where there’s the classic elevator to access to the second floor of the Meiji Yasuda Seimei Kan. From here visitors can explore the various rooms following the flow, all oozing with retro atmosphere. In between there is the majestic view from 2 floor down to ground level.
Mesmerising, the Hall atrium, the ceiling decorations and the antique-style lighting. Classic & noble, speaks of the high Japanese craftsmanship of the period
Meiji Seimei Kan is one of the best examples of Showa Period architecture. We explored the outside as we made our way back, admiring the Greek Revival architecture style building with the facade featuring monumental Corinthian pillars.
Very glad to be able to tour the interior, for free but importantly it was a valuable experience for visitors and all!
Recommended.
