点评:The village appeared almost abandoned when we drove in and parked but there was a small castle with corner towers in the centre so we knew we had the right place. The staff inside were fantastic - I really can't praise them highly enough, from the initial introduction and explanation of the layout to the multimedia room with interactive activities they were engaged and helpful.
The castle is small so normally it would have taken about 20 minutes to look around before leaving but this one was so well laid out with information boards and activities that we spent a lot longer. The multimedia room had various options and it was fascinating to listen to some of the original correspondence between the Dogaressa, her garrison commander and her chancellor. We could watch the damage to the castle from fire and attacks as well as experience being burned as a heretic. It was also fun forging a sword in time with the Eye of a Tiger soundtrack.
We finished this visit off with a tour of the armoury before going outside to look at where the castle gardens were, now a public park. A bargain experience for the €10 entry and a really enjoyable visit - I left with a smile on my face.
