点评:This is a national park in West Coast and part of the Tasmania Wilderness World Heritage Area. It is known for rough & rugged land but includes some gentle short visit opportunities along the Lyell Hwy between Queenstown and Derwent Bridge south of Lake St. Clair.
These includes Nelsons Falls, Franklin River Swing Bridge at the Frenchman Cap stop, the Franklin River Nature Trail and Donaghys Hill to see beautiful rivers, falls and lush rainforests along several short trails recognised as Tasmania's 60 Great Short Walks.
We made several of these stops along the Lyell Hwy on our day drive from Queenstown to Mount Fields National Park. The trails are all in very good condition, short and easy to complete for most. There are public toilets at the Nelson's Falls and Franklin River Nature Trail stops as well. Something to keep in mind if planning to slow travel along this route taking in some of the nature stops along the way.
