点评：Stopping at the Sligachan Old Bridge was one of the most memorable moments of our trip to the Isle of Skye. The views of the Cuillin Mountains from the bridge are absolutely breathtaking—almost otherworldly. Photos don’t do it justice.
We took part in the local legend and held our faces in the river’s cold, clear waters beneath the bridge, letting them dry naturally in the breeze. According to legend, this ritual grants eternal beauty—thanks to the tale of the warrior woman Scathach and her daughter. During a fierce battle, the daughter’s tears fell into the river, and the fairies, moved by her sorrow, blessed the water. Not only did they give her the power to end the conflict with a magical broth, but they also enchanted the river itself.
Whether you believe in fairy magic or not, there’s something undeniably special about this place. It’s a peaceful, powerful spot full of Highland magic and stunning natural beauty. Definitely worth the stop!
