A Museum in a Beautiful Location with Beautiful Art Inside
布兰迪怀恩河艺术博物馆的点评
点评：This was an unexpected treat for us. We were traveling close to the area and found the museum online. We expected a small museum, especially after driving along a 2-lane US Route 1 in northern Maryland and then southeastern Pennsylvania. When we arrived, we were surprised at the size of the building and the number of cars in the parking lot on a drab Monday in November.
The museum specializes in the art of the Wyeth family and in art from the local area, which is the home of the Wyeth family. The exhibits were very interesting. We were particularly interested in the exhibit about the illustrator Howard Pyle and his students, one of whom was Andrew Wyeth. Other than Norman Rockwell, we have not seen this before. It was very interesting. The day after , we returned home, we started watching the Ken Burns program on the American Revolution. In the first 2 episodes, we saw paintings in the show that we had just seen at the Brandywine Museum. That made the exhibit even better for us.
The building itself and its location add to the experience. There is the old original gristmill with a new glass addition. The building is right on the Brandywine River and the glass addition made us feel like we were outside, except warmer and dryer. The architecture is wonderful and I think the museum should tell the visitor a little more about the history of the mill and of the addition. We had a very cozy lunch in the cafe, sitting in front of rounded wall of windows overlooking the river. It was a drab, stereotype November day, yet I felt that it was probably more beautiful than on a perfect summer day.
This is a very worthwhile place to visit.

这里非常值得一游。
