点评:The Church of the Holy Cross (Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche) is one of the interesting historic churches you can visit around the medieval town of Landsberg am Lech. It is situated along Von-Helfenstein-Gasse across from the Stadtmuseum and is open from 9am to 6pm. We found the church open but viewing was restricted to only being allowed behind an irongate just inside the church.
Historically, the church was built between 1752-56 by Joseph Ignaz Merani and Famed Baroque and Rococo Master Dominikus Zimmerman. The exterior is simple if not humble while the interior is a rich celebration of Rococo, making much use of stucco, gilding and ornamentation. You'll find a beautifully decorated altar and impressive ceiling frescos with vibrant three-dimensional scenes.
It is a lovely church to view even if you find the irongate closed during your visit. Might even call this a Rococo gem worth making the effort to find while sightseeing around Landsberg am Lech.
