It was an opportunity to experience a train journey of bygone era

点评：The vintage train ride over a few kilometres from Daylesford to Passing Clouds via Musk Creek shortened to Musk was an enjoyable experience. The Victorian Railways twin carriage set, branded as Walker Railmotor in Navy blue and Yellow livery had very comfortable seats and good leg space for passengers. To get to its destination it passed through farmlands, a forest and some water holes which appeared to be natural ponds. End carriage consisted of a series of passenger seats and the one at the very end could accommodate two people from where a grand view of the track and the passing beautiful scenery could be taken. On the return journey the train driver operated the train from this end and it was interesting to observe how the controls worked.
Platform at Daylesford was arranged to re-enact how luggage was taken to the railway carriages and it was dressed with old advertising bills connected to tourism promotion in the area. The station was also a railway museum with other old rail motor locomotives, goods wagons and rolling stock, track laying and maintenance machinery, scale models and other items used in this mode of transport. Issuance of tickets was in the same old fashion through a grilled counter and it was manned by a very friendly staff member. This counter was used to sell souvenirs too. Our tickets were clipped in the way it was done in the last century and the friendly train driver gave us some insight to the Daylesford Spa Country Railway. We enjoyed both the train journey and the journey to the by gone era.
