It’s Small but Sweet
Kirkwood Mountain Resort的点评
点评：I visited Kirkwood in January, and the experience was fantastic! The snow was above average, and most of the terrain was open, which made for incredible skiing conditions. Despite being a relatively small resort, Kirkwood offers enough variety to keep guests entertained for several days.
The layout is straightforward, making it simple to navigate, and the views of the neighboring mountains and the valley below are absolutely stunning. The resort boasts a great mix of terrain, including plenty of expert trails, some fun glades, a few small bowls, and lots of intermediate and advanced mogul runs. Beginners will find a few green pods, including a small bunny hill, but Kirkwood truly shines as a paradise for experts, with steep rock chutes and challenging terrain all around.
While there are two high-speed lifts, most lifts are on the slower side, which might be a drawback for some. However, lift lines are rarely an issue, and when they do form, they usually clear in under five minutes. The resort is part of the Epic Pass, which helps justify the slightly higher costs.
On the downside, lodging options are limited—we stayed about 30 minutes away—and there’s only one small place to eat on-site. Additionally, getting to Kirkwood isn’t the easiest, as it’s located further south in the Tahoe area.
Overall, Kirkwood is a gem for those seeking incredible skiing, especially for advanced and expert skiers. The breathtaking scenery, challenging terrain, and lack of crowds make it a unique and worthwhile destination. Highly recommend!
