点评:Monday afternoon 9th of September and we took a stroll down to Axmouth Beach which is located at the mouth of the River Axe and beyond the Harbour.
As we walked from the Town we got to the Harbour by crossing Axmouth Old Bridge. It is now a pedestrian bridge and is the oldest standing concrete bridge in England.
Look from the Bridge it was a rather splendid view overlooking the Harbour with it's pontoons lined with boats and more moored up along the River. Then looking further down the River Axe towards it's estuary and Haven Cliffs in the background.
This was all enhanced by the blue skies above, could have easily been mistaken for a summer's day.
As we walked the unsurfaced road into the Harbour we passed a number of fishermen’s storage huts on the quayside. Also piled up on the Harbour wall were the fishing nets and pots. A number of fishing boats were tied up along the wall.
There is a small cafe and angling shop with a number of holiday properties situated along the base of the Haven Cliffs.
During certain times of the year fishing trips set out from the Harbour.
