点评:We had family in town and wanted to bring my baby cousin to see this. There’s a small museum with some information about the brothers and the flight. They have a model hangar so that you can really get a feel and nice visual of the first functioning airplane. The outdoor area has markings of all the first trial flights and a big monument. It’s quite a walk out to the monument but it’s nice views at the top. The volunteer staff member at the front was super knowledgeable and was able to effortlessly answer a few questions we had with great detail. Cute little gift shop. If you have a national park stamp book you can get it stamped here (they even have a stamp you can overlap with a museum in Ohio once you visit both! It’s the only one like this). It didn’t take us long to go through and walk out to the monuments (about 1.5 hours) but it could take longer depending on how long you spend looking at everything. It’s a nice little memorial to NC history and something to see if you’re in the area.
