Nice Beach. Watch out for sharks!!
Coast Guard Beach的点评
点评：Coast Guard Beach. This beach is on the Cape Cod National Seashore, so admission is $25. However, they were working on the pay station shack the day we visited, so no fee today. There are seals at this beach, which has turned it into a feeding ground for Great White sharks. There are warning signs posted. Despite the shark risk, this beach is wonderful! Beautiful, wide, plenty of space. It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the beach, but it is paved. The biggest issue is the parking lot is up a bit of a hill so carrying a lot of beach equipment can be tricky and tiring.
There was a seal playing in the water when we got to the beach, but no sharks. Yay! There are bathrooms near the parking lot. However, one of the reasons we chose this beach is because several reviews touted the great shelling here. But there were very few shells. My wife (a serious sheller) found just enough to not be skunked. I am not a sheller. I sit in my beach chair and enjoy the ocean sights and sounds while she searches for her treasures. I had a great visit at this beach. The day we went was not very busy, so lots of open spaces.
Finally, I just want to thank the Coast Guard, or whoever is responsible for providing the rollup walkways across the sand to the beach. Massachusetts seems to have these in a lot of places and we LOVE them. We are getting up in age, and walking in sand can be laborious. These walkways are so wonderful!!!! This beach had one that went all the way from the edge of the paved pathway to the beach. So nice!!!
