Nice memorial and tribute to Abraham Lincoln - good display and birthplace preserved
Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park的点评
点评:We were staying in nearby Elizabethtown, so definitely worth a visit when in this area. The birthplace of Abraham Lincoln has not changed much, that in itself, is so surprising. We recommend you take the ADA elevated boardwalk from the visitor's center to the memorial, then descend the 56 steps down towards Sinking Springs.
The memorial building is very small, Greek template styled, staffed by one ranger who told us the cabin housed is not really related to Lincoln. The cabin is more of a representation of what the cabin would have been. It is of historic in age, very well preserved. She did not mention about the "mix up" in shipment, mentioned by another TripAdvisor reviewer and online details.
We found the area to be very serene and peaceful. There are trail system for people with more time to explore. We step over to the area where some cabins were located, appears to be in disrepair and corded off.
There is no entrance fee. It made a good short visit.
