点评：We had the best day trip with our driver Alessandro! He was amazing! We booked a trip Cervinara, a little out of the way town that is not a common tourist destination but this little town is special! He was a little confused why we would want to go here so we explained that this little town is where my great grandmother Rufina was born and where she later got married to my great great grandfather!
When we first arrived the church was closed but our amazing driver Alessandro said let’s try again. We went back before we left the village and viola, the church was open. Not only that, there were 3 priests inside. Alex told them why we were there and the one priest gave us a look like, interesting and motioned for us to follow him. (He was the current priest). We did and they took us into this little room and started pulling very old leather bound books from a book case.
Inside one of the books they found record of my great grandmothers birth, and in the other they found record of her marriage to Giovani Carafano, my great grandfather.
Unexplainable experience! If not for Alessandro insisting we go back, we might have never seen the books. He was so accommodating and seemed to be as excited as we were that the church was open when we went back. He was very friendly, his English was very good. He told us stories about his family and his time in Canada. Felt like we were with an old friend! We highly recommend Alessandro! He was our favorite driver our entire trip!
