点评：This place is a hidden gem. When you arrive at the parking lot you have to walk down a pretty steep hill to get to the gift shop/cafe. There are plans to deviate the entrance path to make the walk in easier and prettier. There is a deck/patio area right outside the gift shop that is a nice place to relax. Once you check in you exit out of the gift shop and walk down several flights of stairs. There is a deck area with plenty of loungers to soak up the Alabama sun. You will walk down the final stairs into the canyon and there is a pretty waterfall and you can immediately see the canyon. Make sure you have the map and check out all of the sites listed on the map. You do have to cross over the creek two different times. So prepare to have your feet wet if the creek is swollen. The trails are all dirt and unpaved. With that being said, I personally found them easy to navigate. My favorite part was the swinging bridge that went to Burrs hideout. They said they will have cabins available for overnight stays as soon as they renovate them. I didn’t get to see the glow worms at night, they don’t do the tours in August. I recommend this place and if I am ever in that part of Alabama again, I will return to Dismals
