点评：I reviewed Acadia under its own listing and will be reviewing the town of Bar Harbor here. There was much more to do than I thought, and I had a great time. Most of my time was spent in Acadia, but in late afternoons and evenings, I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the town. There are all kinds of eateries, from casual to more formal, in a variety of cuisines. You can walk to Bar Island at low tide, enjoy the shore path, and look at the views from the pier. There are many shops here. Most are souvenir shops, but you'll find all kinds of things - the typical Acadia or Bar Harbor memorabilia, local hand-made products, locally produced edibles like jam, syrup, candies, and tea, and some more unusual items. I visited most of the tours several times when I had downtime, and I wasn't bored looking at the merchandise more than once - while some products are pretty typical, others are pretty interesting to look at. There are also places to get outdoor gear if needed, and there's a Walgreens and a grocery store. There are two small parks with benches if you want to relax. The town is historic, and there are sign posts throughout providing historic details about that particular spot. You can also take a number of tours from here. There are boat tours that leave from the harbor, ghost and walking tours around the town, and kayaking and bike tours. There's also a theater and a movie theater. The atmosphere is small town quaint. It's very lovely. I walked everywhere. For people who come with cars (I did not), it seems like a hassle to drive around the town with all the pedestrians. I'd recommend parking at your hotel and leaving your car there if possible.
