点评：Cadillac Mountain is part of Acadia National Park and currently requires you to make a reservation to visit. Few things to know about this reservation- you have a half hour time slot to arrive at the check in station, you’ll need your National Park Pass and your Cadillac Mountain Reservation pass to enter the base of the mountain. (Sunrise passes allow more than half hour entrances time). You are only allowed one reservation for every 7 days. Check National Park website for passes and more info. Tip > don’t be like me and miss the whole opportunity by wanting to see the sunrise (I had a 7:00 AM reservation), weather is unpredictable in the mountain top and I missed the view because of dense fog. Choose an afternoon or evening time so you’ll have better chances of actually seeing the view. Also, don’t forget to take the small hike to see the elevation marker. It’s located on the first trail to the right after the visitor center, by the South Ridge Trail map sign. Parking available, visitors center, and restrooms too. Tip > if there is fog on your journey up or down the mountain and you want a certain picture, stop and get it then, the fog settles in and disappears in an unusual manner so the picture opportunity might not be there on the journey back. ***the pictures attached show a view of the lake that was about half way up the mountain and visible despite the fog that morning, notice how much fog covered the lake on my way back down.
