Extremely disappointing and dangerous experience with Sea Scape Golf Links in Kitty Hawk.
We rented a house located on the golf course, and a golf ball was hit into our vehicle, causing significant damage to our windshield. This was not a small crack or minor inconvenience. The impact was severe enough that the windshield moved with the slightest touch. We had to replace the windshield before making our 7.5 hour drive home.
What is most upsetting is the complete lack of accountability and compassion after this happened. We understand that golf balls can occasionally go astray, but when a ball causes this level of damage, the responsible thing to do is make an effort to determine who hit it and address the situation. Instead, there was no meaningful effort to find out who was responsible and no willingness to help us.
We were left to deal with the damage, the expense, and the stress completely on our own. The golf course showed no compassion and apparently has no interest in holding golfers accountable when their shots damage someone else's property.
If you are considering golfing at Sea Scape Golf Links, please understand that if you or your property are injured or damaged by a golf ball, you should not expect assistance, accountability, or even a genuine effort to determine who was responsible. We were put in a dangerous situation and then left to deal with the consequences ourselves.
I strongly urge people to think twice before golfing here. Our experience was extremely disappointing, and the complete lack of concern after our vehicle was damaged was unacceptable.
