点评：We bought the ticket which included the little amphibious ferry which was great! They run backwards and forwards every 20 minutes and the guys were super helpful in assisting my mother-in-law with her wheelchair.
We were greeted at the entrance and the layout of the castle was explained which was very helpful. We happened to pick a day when Force 135 were doing a re-enactment and we learned how they helped to liberate Jersey and returning the island to civilian life after WWII. We also encountered the Master Gunner who has definitely found his forte in life! Extremely witty and entertaining as he explained the Battle of Jersey, muskets, cannons and parade marching (of which he had us rounded up and taking part!) It was all huge fun whilst being really informative (if only we could have learned like this at school!)
I would like to say a special thank you as today marked what would have been my wonderful mum’s 90th birthday and the Master Gunner said he would fire the canon for her which was such a lovely thing for me and she would have been most pleased I am sure!
Well worth a visit for the history, the stunning views and the entertainment factor - well done Jersey Heritage.
