点评:This is a fascinating place but could be so much better if there were brochures or better text on the exhibits.
The museum s mostly outdoors and displays the many pieces of equipment, including the old Death Valley Railroad engine. Also, the old mining building/office/bunkhouse was moved to this location.
The problem is that there is very little on the exhibits that give the history or use of many items other than a very brief identification. There are supposed to be brochures at the office/bunkhouse, but the holder was empty - at 10 in the morning, with few people around. There is so much opportunity to explain this industry, but it's MIA.
I had been hoping to see some images of life in the borax mining towns, but again, the building itself was closed. I don't know if it is always closed, or just a COVID precaution,
The location is great - easy-on/off the highway through Furnace Creek. Go into the entry gates of the Furnace G=Creek Ranch luxury hotel, and find the free parking lot in the back. Look for the locomotive.
While you are there, you can top in little town center that the hotel built at the ice cream shop.
