West Beach Local Nature Reserve的点评
点评：Our preferred dog friendly beach all year round. The expanse of sand at low tide tends to remain moist so we come prepared to sit higher up on the pebbles. We leash our dog tightly on approach to avoid the fencing and barbed areas around the dunes of the nature reserve. The reserve is part of the Climping Beach Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), which has national protection. It includes the sand dunes, vegetated shingle, sand flats and saltmarsh and is home to rare and protected wildlife. The beach is beautiful, open and without shade. In the summer-heat we are careful to arrive for the late afternoon or early morning. We wear escarpines or neoprene to navigate the stones and there is often a metre of scattered seaweed to wade through on entering the waves. Once in the sea there is often sand under foot and it's delicious to swim in. Parking does get a bit crazy in high season and we usually bring our own thermos of hot or iced drinks. It can get windy.
