点评：I had an incredible trip with Diana and Austral Bikes. We can start with the preparation, where all information about the bike, lodging, and attractions were shared in advance. I had an informative phone consultation with Diana who explained the basics of the rental, and answered all of my questions. She made very helpful route planning suggestions that lead to an amazing trip. On the trip, she responded to any question I had usually within 5 minutes, with in depth knowledge about lodging, transportation, and route planning options.
Let's talk about the bike! It was a fantastic ride, seemingly designed specifically for the Carretera. It had extremely easy gears which I very much appreciated on several climbs, and held up great on ripio sections. Storage was ample in the quality panniers. It was a comfortable ride across varied terrain.
In short, for what I found to be a reasonable price, I enjoyed a great bike, great gear, and the best service from Diana and her team. I never thought I'd consider biking the Carretera more than once, but after my trip on this wonderful road, I'd do it again and would immediately return to Austral Bikes. Thank you Diana and team!
