Fort Worth Botanic Garden的点评
点评：It’s not like it used to be 18 years ago when I first visited the gardens.
Caretakers seem to have neglected many of the areas.. looks like they are preserving water in the city and so plants are dying.
I had hoped to see many of the water features, but everything was shut down. 0 flowing water. Not even the waterfall in the Japanese garden had water running.
Now speaking of the Japanese garden. Saddest part of the entire trip for us. The water was green, no flow anywhere, you can no longer feed the koi fish and they look sad. The turtles are filled with so much algae it almost looks like their shells have hair.
They promote their membership more than they water the plants. Honestly the rose garden looks neglected. They aren’t even pruning the rose bushes.
Maybe if they took the time to actually have a beautiful area that looks green and luscious, memberships might start flowing in, but I wouldn’t waste the time or money to go there.
Oh and another sad part, they don’t have the butterflies anymore. You used to walk out of the conservatory area and have to check for hitchhikers, but although they left those signs, there are 0 butterflies. Except, we did see one (not in the conservatory area) landing on a dead flower.
Now I’m not one that likes to complain, but I noticed that the pet policy has changed, if you are going to bring your dog, please pick up after it. They really should have more stations for dog poop to clean up after them. So many dogs, I didn’t see any poop station areas or trash areas. Because of this, not only were dogs using the restrooms in many areas, there was trash thrown in many areas and we all know that the workers aren’t cleaning it, and if guests aren’t caring enough to not litter or pick up after their dogs, who’s left to do that job?
