点评:Driving through on an early April day with flowers and trees blooming, it's hard to conceive what this must have been like for those fighting here. The monuments honor all who fought here and remind visitors that this is hallowed ground for many who died here. As one familiar with General Wallace, it was interesting to visit the Hornet's Nest where he was fatally wounded. The visitor center does a fine job providing interpretive displays to keep this history meaningful. The day we were here was just before a re-enactment so we saw men and kids in uniforms of both sides wandering about the grounds. That definitely caused me to pause and think about the real people who fought this battle.
Again, the grounds and monuments today are so beautifully kept and peaceful. It's hard to conceive of the horrors that filled this battlefield.

如今,这片土地和纪念碑维护得如此优美,如此宁静祥和。很难想象这片战场曾经充斥着怎样的恐怖景象。
